Abstract

The wind and temperature data for three stations, latitudinally separated in the region east of the Indian Ocean, were analysed by spectrum analysis. The study pointed out two types of prominent wave disturbances, one with periodicity of about 5 days and the other of about 8 days. The occurrence of the two types of disturbances is closely associated with the alternating wind regimes of the Quasi-Biennial Oscillation.
