Abstract

Advective (mean) water vapour transfer vectors across the section parallel to west coast of India, computed for the summer monsoon months June through September, for the lower troposphere are compared for contrasting monsoon periods. The zonal transport, during good monsoon period, is more in the sector south of Bombay whereas it is less in the north sector north of Bombay. The difference of meridional transport in meridional plane is generally positive between good and weak monsoon periods. This indicates that the northward transport along this plane is more during good monsoon period. The results are presented and discussed.
