Abstract

Satellite-derived winds have positive impact on objective analysis, and improvement in the analysis is more marked over the data-void region of the Arabian sea. The noteworthy feature observed in this study is that a vortex was depicted during the initial development of the system, when satellite-derived winds were included in the analysis. But, instead of a closed system a trough was depicted when only conventional winds were used in the analysis.
