Abstract

Multi-spectral measurements using solar radiometers to derive atmospheric optical depth, aerosol size distribution and total column content of gas constituents have been reported by many authorslT4. A High Spectral Resolution Radiometer (HSRR) has been developed at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune (18'32', 73'51'E, 559 m AMSL), India for continuous scanning of solar spectrum in any specified wavelength region at a faster rate so that information content will give a better estimation of atmospheric aerosols and trace gas constituents.
